Collection of Nudes

Collection of Nudes is both a study of the female form and Sydney's sex industry. Exploring the human figure and sexuality, the series of paintings include subjects of nude studies and Kings Cross strip clubs. The paintings were informed by observations at strip clubs including The World Famous Love Machine and Show Girls in Kings Cross, where Hinton developed fieldwork sketches and preliminary drawings. Unconventionally exhibited over three levels of Black Cat Parlour, a brothel in Sydney's Surry Hills, audiences were encouraged to enter the brothel door to view the exhibition inside.
