Repose is the culmination of a series of drawings, etchings and paintings based on studies of the female form. Exploring the affinity of sensuality and composure, the works illustrate the sexuality and allure of the human body, whilst laying bare notions of vanity and indulgence.

Figures stray between realism and a more abstract expression, in an attempt to find emotional meaning through exaggerated representation. Tempting a voyeuristic eye from the viewer, they appear inviting yet illusory and obscure in their surroundings. The images are a personal response to eroticism and desire, in which Hinton renders an evocatively distorted experience of the nude in repose.
